CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
Expectations will include but may not be limited to the following:
*Be polite, courteous and respectful at all times.
*Stay on task.
*Stay in your seat unless otherwise instructed.
*Be prepared with all materials needed for class.
*Be on time and in your seat when the bell rings.
*Follow all School-wide rules!
I also would like students to bring their AR book. If they finish with assignments before the bell rings, they may make productive use of this time by reading.
DISCIPLINE:
Demerits will be used as a discipline record. Infractions resulting in a demerit will include but not be limited to the following: being tardy, being unprepared for class (including not having materials needed or homework), being disrespectful/disruptive, and talking at inappropriate times. Three demerits will result in a detention.
ORGANIZATION:
Organization is key to success in school.
Students will be expected to record their assignments in their
agenda each Monday for the week.
WRITING:
We will spend a great deal of time writing this year. We will cover Expository, Narrative, and Argumentative writing.
HOMEWORK:
Students will be expected to complete homework and return homework on time. Any classwork not completed in class may become homework.
TESTS AND QUIZZES:
In order to ensure that students are on task and are comprehending material studied, quizzes may be given. Students will be tested for comprehension and retention of information covered in class. Mid-term exams and Final exams will be comprehensive.:
